Flying Couch: Amy Kurzweil’s Graphic Memoir

Flying Couch: Amy Kurzweil’s Graphic Memoir

ENGLISH CORNER, CON LINDA JIMÉNEZ – This week’s trivia question: Why did Amy Kurzweil name her graphic memoir  Flying Couch?

Amy Kurzweil is a cartoonist and writer. Originally from the Boston area, she now lives in Brooklyn, New York. She recently published Flying Couch, a graphic memoir which tells the story of three generations of women in her family: her grandmother, a Holocaust survivor who escaped from the Warsaw ghetto; her mother, a psychologist; and herself, a young Jewish artist striving to understand herself and her family history.

Amy spoke with us about that history, and  Flying Couch.

Learn more about Amy Kurzweil and Flying Couch, watch an animated trailer of the book, and listen to interviews with Amy’s grandmother.
