ESPECIAL ISRAEL EN EUROVISIÓN – Este martes 3 de marzo los israelíes ya sabrán los resultados de las terceras elecciones generales del día anterior. Pero esa misma noche habrá muchos que seguramente estarán más pendientes de qué canción representará a Israel en el próximo Festival de Eurovisión que tendrá lugar en Rotterdam, Holanda, y para el cual ha sido elegida por votación popular la cantante Eden Alene, la primera de origen etíope que llega al certamen. Para ello se procederá a una nueva votación popular para elegir la canción entre cuatro finalistas. La primera, Feker Libi, Te quiero, es una propuesta cuya letra y música han sido creadas por Doron Medali e Idan Raichel.

Eden está por cumplir los 20 años de edad. Nació en el barrio Katamón de Jerusalén de padres etíopes Beta Israel que se separaron cuando ella tenía dos años. En octubre de 2017 participó en un reality show de talentos musicales que ganó. También cantó en la ceremonia de los 70 años de Israel durante el encendido de la antorcha. El tema siguiente se titula Rakata y tiene muchos padres: en la letra: Gal Jo Cohen, Eyal Yshai y Tzlil Kalifi, mientras que para la melodía se les suma Eran Kashi.

En diciembre de 2018 Eden publicó su single de debut, «Better» y al marzo siguiente su segundo tema «When it Comes to You», además de participar en un musical. En la tercera propuesta, Roots, o sea Raíces, encontramos a Natan Goshen en la letra, al que se le suma en la melodía Stav Berger.
