René Mayer (II): Chess and Humor
ENGLISH CORNER, CON LINDA JIMÉNEZ – This week’s trivia question: What is the motto of the World Chess Federation?
René Mayer was born in France in 1947. He is best known for his lifelong dedication to chess–he has won championships and written five books on the subject. He also has recorded a series of programs in Spanish about historic chess players for Radio Sefarad. Last week he told us about his very interesting and somewhat adventurous life. This week we are speaking with him about his life as a chess professional and his new project: a collection of jokes from different languages.
