The Montjuic Project, with Dr. Ze’ev Maor

ENGLISH CORNER, CON LINDA JIMÉNEZ – This week’s trivia question: How are organizations in Poland and the Institute for Jewish Studies Barcelona working together to preserve Jewish cemeteries?

Dr. Ze’ev Maor is the head and academic director of the Institute for Jewish Studies BarcelonaLast week he told us about the Institute and most of its many programs.  This week he is speaking with us in more detail about one of their special programs, the Montjuic Project(If you follow this link you can learn more about the project, and  also watch a video of this year’s Yad Miriam ceremony.)

One of the main researchers behind this project is Dominique Tomasov, who has been working to study and preserve ancient Jewish cemeteries for more than 25 years.  Several years ago we spoke with her about her work and you can listen to that program here.
