“The Little Boy Who Loved Hamantaschen”–A Purim Story by Mark Binder

ENGLISH CORNER, CON LINDA JIMÉNEZ – This week’s trivia question: Why are we supposed to make a lot of noise when we hear the name of Haman?

This week we are celebrating Purim, so we thought you’d like to hear a Purim story. Mark Binder is an author and storyteller, who lives in Providence, R.I. He has written several collections of classic and original stories for all ages, live spoken-word audio albums, and his novel for adults, The Brothers Schlemiel, was published in 2013. He is also a recording artist, the founder of the American Story Theater, and he performs all around the world. More than 200 of his stories have been published in a variety of magazines and newspapers, and he has won numerous awards and grants. This story, The Little Boy Who Loved Hamantaschen, was published in 2007 in the Jewish Daily Forward. I hope you enjoy it.
