Hana Jaeger:  An Israeli Artist in Madrid

Hana Jaeger:  An Israeli Artist in Madrid

ENGLISH CORNER, CON LINDA JIMÉNEZ – This week’s trivia question:  How has living in Spain influenced Hana Jaeger’s work?

Hana Jaeger is an Israeli artist who has lived in Madrid since 2020.  She came to art relatively late in life, after studying and working in the fields of mathmatics and communications.  In her works she tells short simple unpretentious stories that reflect the daily life of ordinary people.  She uses different formats, ranging from small cardboard boxes to large canvasses. Something especially interesting about Hana’s works is that none of them have titles, allowing viewers to interpret them without any outside infuences.

Since 2006 she has had nine solo exhibitions and participated in more than a dozen group exhibitions, in Israel and other countries.  Centro Sefarad-Israel is now hosting Hana’s first exhibit in Spain.  It opened on February 6 and can be seen through March 5.
